WELCH, W.Va. – Law enforcement and their families from McDowell and Mercer County gave out free meals to McDowell County residents who have been impacted by the recent flooding.

This event was spearheaded and ran by their wives and families. Senior Trooper Beggs explained that they owe it all to them.

The wives in question simply added that they’re happy to come out and feed a unified community.

“I think that it’s really good that our community just comes together. That’s a good thing about West Virginia, southern West Virginia,” said Sarah Beggs, a participant of the event and wife of Senior Trooper Beggs.
