A new exhibition from North Lanarkshire Heritage Centre is exploring the history of Scottish architecture.

Mid Century Modern: Putting Scotland on the Map is open now until May 6 at the centre in Motherwell.

Drawn from Historic Environment Scotland’s archive and other sources, the exhibition looks at the international context that shaped the Mid-Century Modern architectural movement in Scotland.

The exhibition explores the ways in which Scottish architects were both influenced by and themselves influenced the international movement.

The free exhibition also features images from North Lanarkshire Archives, exploring how the movement shaped the local landscape.

The centre is located at 1 High Road, Motherwell, and is open Monday to Saturday from noon until 4pm.
