ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) – UPDATE: UVA has canceled classes until further notice.
The University of Virginia has issued a shelter-in-place.
According to officials, police are looking for a suspect along Alderman Road.
Students, faculty, and staff are advised to shelter in place on grounds.
The suspect, Nyheem Hill, is a black male, 6′1″, 170lbs. wearing a grey hoodie.
Officials say Hill fled from police following a traffic stop on Ivy Road.
Hill has a known criminal history and gang affiliation, according to UVA Police.
At this time, Hill has no known affiliation with the University of Virginia.
