A popular Donald Trump impersonator learned the hard way that Alec Baldwin may not be a good person to stage a prank on, after an interaction in New York City nearly turned physical.
Instagram comedian Jason Scoop felt the brunt of Baldwin’s rage when he rolled up on him dressed as the MAGA leader, and began making repeated references to the shooting death of “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
Baldwin, whose involuntary manslaughter case was dismissed last summer, was confronted by Scoop while he was unloading luggage on the street outside his home. It’s unclear when exactly the interaction occurred, though a video of the incident was posted to Scoop’s social media accounts on Monday.
“Look at Alec Baldwin, right? He did that impersonation of me. It was not too hot, not too good. But look, we’re back in office,” Scoop can be heard saying in a gravely Trump voice, referring to Baldwin’s own impersonation of the president on “Saturday Night Live.”
“It’s your favorite president,” Scoop continues. “Look, Alec, I will offer you a total pardon, because I want to be friends, right? I want to be friends. I will give you a total pardon for murdering that woman if you kiss the ring.”
Baldwin ignores the comedian but Scoop continues prodding: “Alec, if you don’t want that pardon for murdering that woman in cold blood, you can call it first-degree, you can call it whatever you want, but it was not good. She’s looking down on me right now, smiling, happy. ‘Thank you for confronting the man who took me out, who killed me.’”
That’s when the 66-year-old actor seemingly reaches his limit.
“You got a camera on me here?” he says, telling Scoop to look him in the eye. “You realize my kids live in this building? I want you to know something. I want you to be real careful. If this camera wasn’t here, I’d snap your f—ing neck in half and break your f—ing neck right here. … I’ll take that camera, and I’ll shove it up your a–.”
The video ends with Scoop ultimately walking away, but according to the comedian himself, perhaps the wildest part of the interaction was not captured on camera.
Speaking to TMZ on Tuesday, Scoop said Baldwin’s wife, Hiliara, later chased him down the street and “lunged” for his phone.
On Sunday’s premiere of the new TLC reality series “The Baldwins,” the family opened on the PTSD Alec has suffered as a result of the accidental “Rust” shooting, with the Emmy winner admitting that he sometimes can’t out of bed.
“Everyone who is close to Alec has seen his mental health decline,” Hilaria said. “He says in his darkest moments … ‘Why couldn’t it have been me?’”
