A New Hampshire woman allegedly peed on products at local businesses for years and posted videos of it online before finally being caught last week, police in Keene said.
Kelli Tedford, 23, was nabbed after an anonymous tipster told the Keene Police Department that someone “had posted disturbing videos to an internet site,” the department said in a statement. “In one of these videos, Tedford recorded herself contaminating items in a local business with her urine.”
That business was the Monadnock Food Co-Op, which was forced to recall several products from its bulk department, losing more than $1,500 in destroyed merchandise and cleaning costs, police said.
“Upon notification from law enforcement, we immediately reviewed store video, identified affected products, removed them from our shelves and sanitized all surfaces,” Monadnock said in its recall notice. “We also reached out to members who purchased at-risk products.”
Store officials told customers to dispose of affected products bought between Feb. 10, the day Tedford allegedly tainted the items, and Feb. 15, saying it would issue full refunds. They assured customers that they were working with the Keene Health Department, which “confirmed that no ongoing risks remain.”
But it was not an isolated incident, police later discovered.
“At this time, it appears likely that similar historic incidents occurred in Keene and surrounding communities where Tedford contaminated items and/or surfaces with urine, as several videos appear to be recorded as early as 2021,” Keene police said. “This investigation is ongoing, and additional criminal charges are possible.”
Tedford was charged with criminal mischief, a class B felony, and is set to be arraigned on April 7.
