As shocking as it may seem, this year marks us being a quarter way through the 21st century. Before the millennium, people would often have tried to imagine what the future will look like in terms of technology, politics and even clothing.
With the recent advances in artificial intelligence, we can take a more realistic guess at how we will have adapted in the future. The latest technology allows us to make a visual representation of what life may be like in a few years.
Housebuilder Avant Homes Scotland has done just that, using cutting-edge AI technology to generate realistic visuals of what the average home in the UK will look like in 2050.
The results have predicted an extraordinary transformation in the way we live, with elements of sci-fi style technology encompassing our sustainable and intelligent home designs. These AI generated images have created the ultimate home of the future.
AI has predicted that UK homes will have technology, sustainability and convenience interwoven into every aspect of the house. On top of this, as technology continues to evolve, homes will in turn become smarter, greener, and more intuitive.

The AI technology that Avant Homes Scotland used also predicted a range of amazing new features that could be staples in our homes, such as drone security systems, robotic home assistants, and cooling techniques to try and resist the effects of global warming.
Commenting on AI’s predictions, Avant Homes head of architectural design Tom Smith, said: “AI is giving us a glimpse of what could be reality for new homes within the next 25 years. As technology advances, so will the way we design and interact with our homes.
“By 2050, homes will be smarter, more efficient and tailored to how we live and responsive to any change in climate. Fully electrified homes, wireless power, AI-managed green spaces and climate-responsive materials aren’t just futuristic concepts. They are realistic advancements that could transform the way we live within a generation.”
