The victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

AUSTIN, Texas — Police are searching for a suspect or suspects after a person suffered life-threatening injuries in a shooting at Bartholomew District Park in East Austin on Sunday evening.

According to the Austin Police Department (APD), the incident happened around 6:30 p.m. during a large, planned community event on Feb. 23.

During the event, multiple unidentified men were involved in a physical altercation in the parking lot near the baseball field, police said. Shorty after, multiple gunshots were fired, striking one victim and multiple vehicles.

The victim was taken to a local hospital.

APD said a large crowd was present during the shooting. Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance with any information, videos, audio recordings or witnesses that may have seen the shooting.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact APD at 512-974-8566 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest.
