WYTHEVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) – Longtime musician Jim Messina will soon be performing live in Wytheville at the Millwald Theatre as a part of his “Here, There and Everywhere” tour.
Born in California and starting his music career at age 13, Messina now lives near Nashville. He will make his way to Wytheville March 12th with his fellow band members called “The Roadrunners.”
From “Danny’s Song”, “Angry Eyes”, and” Your Mama Don’t Dance”, Messina says there will be no shortage of songs from the Loggins and Messina 1970s duo, as well as songs from his time with Buffalo Springfield and Poco.
“People come to hear what they know that you became famous for, so I realized that with the history behind me, I will always need to have a repertoire that includes those songs that I’m most remembered by,” said Messina.
With hits spanning over five decades, Messina says he’s still on the road performing, but likes to take things a little slower these days to spend time with his family and pets.
He says what keeps him going is his creativity and hard work he puts into every song.
“It’s just a way of life. I think because I’ve chosen a life that is creative and that all the things that I’m interested in support the process. I believe that’s what keeps me inspired,” said Messina.
He says he looks forward to meeting the people of Southwest Virginia at the concert.
The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. March 12.
