There’s still time to watch many of this year’s Oscar nominees before Sunday’s awards ceremony.

LOS ANGELES — The race to the 2025 Academy Awards is close to the finish, and movie enthusiasts have just a few days to to catch up on this year’s Oscar contenders before the March 2 ceremony in Los Angeles.

With nominees scattered across streaming platforms, theaters and video-on-demand (VOD) services, finding where to watch these acclaimed films has become increasingly complex for viewers.

To simplify your last-minute viewing, here’s a comprehensive guide to where you can watch each best picture nominee and other major contenders.

Best Picture Nominees

“Anora” (6 nominations)

Where to watch: Rent or buy via video-on-demand (Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, Google Play, YouTube, others)

Sean Baker’s Palme d’Or-winning drama follows a New York stripper’s tumultuous romance with a Russian oligarch’s son. Though overlooked at the Golden Globes, the film earned Directors Guild recognition and Oscar nominations for stars Mikey Madison and Yura Borisov.

“The Brutalist” (10 nominations)

Where to watch: Rent or buy on VOD, in limited theaters

Despite missing a SAG ensemble nomination, this powerful drama stars Adrien Brody as a Holocaust survivor architect building a new life in America after receiving a life-changing commission from a wealthy industrialist (Guy Pearce). The film swept the Golden Globes with wins for best director, drama and actor. Felicity Jones also received an Oscar nomination.

“A Complete Unknown” (8 nominations)

Where to watch: Rent or buy on VOD

James Mangold’s Bob Dylan biopic impressed Oscar voters with nominations for best picture, director, actor (Timothée Chalamet), supporting actress (Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez), and supporting actor (Edward Norton as Pete Seeger).

“Conclave” (8 nominations)

Where to watch: Streaming on Peacock 

Edward Berger’s thriller about papal selection earned a DGA nomination and a SAG nod for Ralph Fiennes. The film won the Golden Globe for best screenplay, and while Berger missed out on a directing Oscar, Isabella Rossellini secured a supporting actress nomination.

“Dune: Part Two” (5 nominations)

Where to watch: Streaming on MAX 

Following its predecessor’s pattern, Denis Villeneuve’s sequel earned a best picture nomination but was notably absent from the directing category at both the Oscars and Directors Guild.

“Emilia Pérez” (13 nominations)

Where to watch: Streaming on Netflix 

Jacques Audiard’s bold musical crime thriller about a Mexican drug lord undergoing gender-affirming surgery leads all films with 13 Oscar nominations. The film secured SAG nominations for Karla Sofía Gascón and Zoe Saldaña (who won at the Globes), plus a DGA nod for Audiard. Its Golden Globe wins include best musical/comedy, original song, and non-English language film.

“I’m Still Here.” (3 nominations)

Where to watch: Streaming on Apple TV+

Walter Salles’ Brazilian drama stars Golden Globe winner Fernanda Torres as Eunice Paiva, whose congressman husband disappeared during Brazil’s military dictatorship. The film secured nominations for best picture, actress and international feature.

“Nickel Boys” (2 nominations)

Where to watch: Streaming on MGM+, in limited theaters

RaMell Ross adapted Colson Whitehead’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel about an abusive Jim Crow-era reform school using first-person perspective, earning a DGA best first feature nomination.

“The Substance” (5 nominations)

Where to watch: Streaming on MUBI, limited theatrical re-release 

Demi Moore’s turn as an aging actor taking extreme measures to preserve her looks in Coralie Fargeat’s body horror earned her a Golden Globe, SAG nomination and Oscar nod. The film also competes for best picture and director.

“Wicked” (10 nominations)

Where to watch: Available to rent or buy on VOD. Comes to Peacock on March 21. 

Jon M. Chu’s vibrant adaptation of the Broadway musical (part one) received widespread recognition with nominations for Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande and best picture. It also secured a SAG ensemble nomination, plus individual nods for Erivo, Grande and Jonathan Bailey.

Other Notable Contenders

“Nosferatu” (4 nominations)

Where to watch: Streaming on Peacock

Robert Eggers’ vampire classic remake starring Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp and Bill Skarsgård earned recognition primarily for its technical achievements and cinematography.

“Sing Sing” (3 nominations)

Where to watch: In theaters 

Colman Domingo received critical acclaim for portraying an incarcerated man leading a prison theater program. The film’s screenplay and music were also recognized.

“The Wild Robot” (3 nominations)

Where to watch: Streaming on Peacock 

Chris Sanders’ adaptation of Peter Brown’s book about a stranded robot caring for a gosling remains a strong animated feature contender.

“The Apprentice” (2 nominations)

Where to watch: Rent or buy on VOD

Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong earned nominations for their portrayals of Donald Trump and Roy Cohn in this examination of the future president’s early career.

“Flow” (2 nominations)

Where to watch: Rent or buy on VOD, also in limited theaters 

This wordless Latvian animation about a cat escaping a flood has become an awards season favorite, winning the animation Golden Globe and securing both animation and international feature Oscar nominations.

“A Real Pain” (2 nominations)

Where to watch: Streaming on Hulu 

Kieran Culkin’s performance as the charismatic but chaotic Benji in Jesse Eisenberg’s film about cousins on a Holocaust tour in Poland earned him a Golden Globe, plus SAG and Oscar nominations. Eisenberg received an original screenplay nod.

“A Different Man” (1 nomination)

Where to watch: Streaming on MAX

Sebastian Stan won a Golden Globe for his performance as an actor who drastically alters his appearance, though the film’s only Oscar recognition came for makeup and hairstyling.

“Gladiator II” (1 nomination)

Where to watch: Streaming on Paramount+ 

Despite Denzel Washington’s performance, the film’s sole nomination went to its costume design team.

“Inside Out 2” (1 nomination)

Where to watch: Streaming on Disney+ 

This record-breaking sequel about adolescent emotions is now the highest-grossing animated film of all time, not accounting for inflation.

“The Seed of the Sacred Fig” (1 nomination)

Where to watch: Rent or buy on VOD

This Cannes standout and Germany’s Oscar submission combines political thriller elements with domestic drama to examine Iran’s authoritarian regime.

“September 5” (1 nomination)

Where to watch: Streaming on Paramount+ and MGM+

This minute-by-minute account of ABC’s coverage of the 1972 Munich Olympics hostage crisis earned an original screenplay nomination.

“Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl” (1 nomination)

Where to watch: Streaming on Netflix 

Only the second feature-length adventure for the beloved animated duo brings back fan-favorite villain Feathers McGraw.

Notable Snubs

“The Last Showgirl” (Pamela Anderson earned a SAG nomination but was overlooked at the Oscars) is still playing in limited theaters and is available to rent or buy on VOD services. 

“The Piano Lesson” (Danielle Deadwyler received a SAG supporting actress nomination for the August Wilson adaptation) is streaming on Netflix.

“Queer” (Daniel Craig secured a SAG nomination for his performance in Luca Guadagnino’s William S. Burroughs adaptation) is available to rent or buy on VOD.

The 96th Academy Awards ceremony will take place March 2 in Los Angeles.
