Pamela Bach, the actress and former wife of David Hasselhoff, died by suicide Wednesday in Los Angeles, according to reports. She was 61.

Bach’s family had not heard from her recently, and paramedics were called to her home around 10 p.m. Wednesday, TMZ reported. First responders found Bach dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said. There was no note at the scene.

“Our family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pamela Hasselhoff,” David Hasselhoff told TMZ. “We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time but we kindly request privacy as we grieve and navigate through this challenging time.”

Bach and Hasselhoff were married from 1989 to 2006. They starred together on “Baywatch” from 1991 to 2000.

The couple first met in 1985 while filming an episode of the Hasselhoff-led show “Knight Rider.” Bach appeared on a single episode during the show’s fourth season but apparently made an impression on the Hoff.

Born Oct. 16, 1963, in Tulsa, Okla., Pamela Weissenbach shortened her last name for show-business purposes in 1985 when she landed her first role, a one-episode appearance in the TV show “Otherworld.”

Bach made multiple similar appearances throughout the year, but she entered the international spotlight because of her stop on “Knight Rider” and ensuing relationship with Hasselhoff.

The couple had two daughters together, Hayley and Taylor Ann, the first of whom caused a little stress for her mom when she first arrived.

“I went into labor over Iceland,” Bach told the Tulsa World in 1990, describing a flight from Germany to Los Angeles. “When my friends came to the airport to pick me up, they found the plane had been greeted by the police and an ambulance because of me. It turned out that my gynecologist was on the same plane. It was like fate.”

Bach and Hasselhoff separated in 2006, with ongoing differences and Hasselhoff’s alleged financial troubles causing problems into the 2010s. Bach’s final acting credit came in a poorly reviewed 2015 film, “Mansion of Blood.”

She appeared to remain close with both of her daughters, as they celebrated Christmas together as a family in 2024, according to one of her final Instagram posts.

“Even though my precious granddaughter London may not remember it yet, our first Christmas with her was absolutely magical,” Bach wrote in a celebratory post. “The day was filled with love, joy, and precious moments with family. We cherish these wonderful memories we made.”
