The at least half-naked grandson of President John F. Kennedy asked Cheryl Hines to apologize to the Texas family whose unvaccinated child died from measles last week.
Jack Schlossberg made his snarky pitch in an Instagram video Thursday addressed to the wife of his cousin, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who was made Trump’s secretary of health and human services — despite his skepticism of life-saving vaccines.
“Hey Cheryl Hines, it’s Jack Schlossberg, I just got out of the shower,” his message begins. “We’ve never met, but I’ve got a favor to ask.”
The video doesn’t show Schlossberg’s lower half, but he’s not wearing a shirt and appears to be wet. He twice misspells Hines’ name in the video’s caption.
The 32-year-old activist then requests the actress contact the parents of the 6-year-old West Texas child who died last week, marking the first measles death in the U.S. since 2015.
“Can you do that for me, babe?” Schlossberg sarcastically asks. “Almost every single case of measles is in someone who’s not vaccinated. I think you’re the perfect person to say sorry.”
Some have suggested Schlossberg’s video may have been inspired by a toiletry ad Hines posted online in November featuring her 71-year-old husband taking a shower.
Schlossberg has been hugely critical of RFK Jr., who was largely seen as a leader in the anti-vaccine movement during the height of COVID-19. Despite Kennedy admitting that he and his wife don’t always share political views, Hines has stood beside him as he’s taken on his new role in Trump’s government.
But Kennedy surprised many MAGA loyalists on Sunday when he expressed support for the measles vaccine amid the outbreak that’s affected nearly 150 people in Texas. Another 10 have been reported in New Mexico, where officials on Thursday announced another unvaccinated person had died.
