AUSTIN, Texas — Three people, including a 4-year-old, are dead following a three-vehicle crash in Blanco County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the crash occurred at around noon on March 5, when a Chevrolet Trax traveling on FM 1323 attempted to turn left onto the northbound side of U.S. 281.
According to investigators, the Trax failed to yield, causing it to collide with a Toyota Tacoma that was traveling southbound on U.S. 281.
The impact caused the Tacoma to spin into the northbound lane, where it was then struck by a Toyota 4Runner traveling northbound on U.S. 281.
Two passengers in the Toyota Tacoma- 27-year-old Annett Morales and 4-year-old Carlos Morales IV- and 71-year-old Larry Higgins, who was driving the Toyota 4Runner, died at the scene.
The drivers of the Toyota Tacoma and Chevrolet Trax, as well as a passenger in the 4Runner, all sustained incapacitating injuries and were taken to the hospital.
The crash is still under investigation.
