WYOMING COUNTY, W.Va. – According to Wyoming County Prosecutor, Gregory Bishop, two men were recently sentenced to prison for separate burglary crimes.

57 year old Randy Lee Hurly of Simon was sentenced 1 to 15 years on March, 6. He pleaded guilty in January for an October, 2024 crime. According to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department, Hurly was caught in the act of stealing from a home in the Hanover area.

“Burglary is psychologically and emotionally stressful for the homeowner, and we will seek the harshest punishment possible in Wyoming County,” said Derek Laxton, Wyoming County Assistant Prosecutor.

Also sentenced on March 6 was 54 year old Judd Stephen Reed of Pineville. He is set to serve 1 to 3 years for a January 2025 crime. Reed was caught in the act of burglary in the East Pineville area.

“This case stems from an illegal entry into a dwelling. Although unoccupied, a dwelling is a sacred place in our society, and we will aggressively prosecute these crimes,” said Laxton.
