BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – Garrett Schilling has been announced as the new General Manager for Bluefield’s Ridge Runners baseball team
“We are very excited that Garrett is joining the team at Bowen Field,” said Randy Albert, President of the Board of the Bluefield Baseball Club. “He has been dedicated to advancing baseball in the region for several years both at the collegiate and professional levels. He has dedicated countless hours to coaching local talent and working alongside the current leadership at Bowen Field. We feel the community will be happy to see a familiar face in this role and will be excited about the leadership he brings to this position.”
Schilling is taking the reigns from long-serving GM Rocky Malamisura.
“Garrett will have some big shoes to fill in taking this role and its history of strong GM’s that we have had for Bluefield Baseball over the years, but we are confident that he is more than capable in carrying on the legacy that these GM’s started and will add some new and innovative ideas that will make Bluefield Baseball better than ever,” said Albert.
The Ridge Runners will play their first game of the season June 5 away at Burlington.
