(CNN) – A crematorium in Chicago Heights, Illinois has been shut down over allegations it mishandled human remains.
Heights Crematory is accused of improperly storing more than 100 bodies. Officials said the bodies were found in sheets and bags in trailers.

The facility cremates bodies sent to them by funeral homes. State regulators have told the crematory not to accept anymore.
The business has been directed to cremate remains already in its possession, under supervision.
It faces tens of thousands of dollars in fines and could lose its license to operate.
