An 80-year-old man crossing a Staten Island street a block from his home was fatally struck by an SUV driver, police said Monday.
Chaosheng Wu was crossing Hylan Blvd. at Benton Ave. when the driver of a 2008 Ford Edge struck him about 9:25 a.m. Friday, cops said.
Medics rushed the victim to Staten Island University Hospital North but he could not be saved.
The 65-year-old driver stayed at the scene and was not charged but police are still investigating the crash. She was heading north on Hylan Blvd. when she struck the victim, police said.
