
COAL CITY, W.Va. – According to the Coal City Volunteer Fire Department, a woman perished due to injuries from a housefire on Saturday.
The department was dispatched to the 100 block of Lynwinn Road in Coal City for a structure fire with reported entrapment. Firefighters were able to rescue the trapped woman and deliver her to EMS.
The fire department reports the woman passed away at a burn unit in Pittsburgh, PA.
Sophia City Volunteer Fire Department, Sophia Area Volunteer Fire Department, Lester Volunteer Fire Department and JanCare Ambulance also responded to the scene.
The fire is being investigated by the West Virginia State Fire Marshall’s Office
