The Giants set the table for their free agency spending by locking up some of their own.

They re-signed punter Jamie Gillan, quarterback Tommy DeVito, tight end Chris Manhertz and long-snapper Casey Kreiter before Monday’s legal tampering period opened for outside free agents.

Gillan, 27, re-signed on a three-year contract worth up to $10.2 million with $4 million guaranteed, per his agency. He allowed the third-fewest punt return yards (141) last season among NFL punters who played in at least 13 games.

The other contracts are one-year deals.

DeVito, 26, returns for a third season with the Giants. He has started games in each of his two years so far, going 3-3 in 2023 and 0-2 in 2024.

He was the Giants’ No. 3 quarterback last season until the Giants skipped over No. 2 Drew Lock to start DeVito after Daniel Jones’ release. So that threat now exists for the Giants’ No. 2 in 2025, as well.

Manhertz, 32, is back for a second season. He is a respected locker room presence who provides blocking and red zone pass catching ability.

Kreiter, 34, returns for a sixth season with the club.

This is how the Giants set the stage for their free agent spending in March, on top of January’s reserve/future contracts for defensive tackles Casey Rogers and Ross Blacklock, centers Jimmy Morrissey and Bryan Hudson and kicker Jude McAtamney.

All five players ended the season on the Giants’ practice squad.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates throughout the day.
