CHARELSTON, W.Va. – Senate Bill 280 seeks to require West Virginia public elementary and secondary schools as well as state colleges to display “In God We Trust” in a prominent place in each building.

The bill says the national motto must be a framed copy or “durable poster” and must have representations United States flag and the West Virginia flag under the phrase. It would not be allowed to have any other images or words.

The schools would be allowed to have the poster or framed copy purchased from private donations.
