AUSTIN, Texas — Some Austin Water customers are dealing with an outage in northwest Austin on Monday evening.
According to Austin Water, there’s a 42-inch water main break near MoPac Expressway and Spicewood Springs Road.
Officials tell KVUE customers east of MoPac may experience lower-than-normal pressures. KVUE’s station is in the area and is also without water.
Austin Water said its crews are working on repairs by isolating the break and restoring pressure to the system.
The utility said it is mobilizing to provide bottled water, in the event it is needed.
“Once the break is isolated and the area is excavated, Austin Water will be able to assess the repairs that are needed and provide customers with an estimate for the repair timeline,” a spokesperson said.
If customers experience any outages or water emergencies, they should call Austin Water’s 24/7 Customer Service Contact Center at 512-972-1000.
