AUSTIN, Texas — Starting on Tuesday at 9 p.m., part of the southbound MoPac Expressway frontage road is going to be shut down.
The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA) said all frontage road lanes will be closed near Spicewood Springs Road to repair a water main break.
Austin Water first reported the water main break on Monday afternoon. In an update on Tuesday, an Austin Water official said repairs are still ongoing.
The mobility authority said some lanes will open by 6 a.m. Wednesday to accommodate morning traffic. Additional full closures of the frontage road could happen in the coming days.
The limited closure of the two left lanes of the frontage road will remain in place through the weekend.
“Our goal is to minimize further disruption to area drivers, businesses and residents,” CTRMA said. “We again ask for patience while our crews work to complete the repairs quickly and safely.”
Customers can report any water issues to Austin Water’s Incident Management Team by calling their 24/7 Customer Service Contact Center at 512-927-1000.
