The crimes occurred in the Driftwood, Dripping Springs and Buda areas in February.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Hays County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect in connection to a number of vehicle-related crimes that have occurred in the county last month.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to multiple vehicle burglaries and thefts in the Dripping Springs and Driftwood areas on Feb. 10. With assistance from Austin ISD PD, investigators identified Ethan Lana as a suspect. A warrant was issued for his arrest shortly thereafter.

The sheriff’s office said another wave of vehicle crimes took place on Feb. 23, in Dripping Springs, Driftwood and Buda. Lana and a juvenile accomplice were identified as suspects.

On Feb. 25, the Austin Police Department (APD) Metro Tactical Unit arrested the juvenile. He was later released on March 3.

The sheriff’s office says Lana is still at-large, and is considered armed and dangerous as he faces multiple felony warrants.

According to the sheriff’s office, every victim that was affected had unlocked vehicles, with key fobs and firearms stolen. The public is reminded to hide their valuables, lock their vehicles and take important items with them when they exit their vehicle.
