Apple cider vinegar, or ACV as it’s known amongst health supplement fans, is seen as something of a miracle elixir. Claiming weight loss benefits, hormone regulation, blood sugar control and improved digestion, studies suggest there are some benefits to including it in your daily health routine.
ACV is made by fermenting the sugars from apples and turning them into acetic acid, which has been used as a natural remedy for centuries. Some people like to drink a pure shot of vinegar in the morning – whether that’s filtered and clear, or the cloudy unfiltered version which contains the ‘mother’, a cloudy substance rich in beneficial bacteria, proteins and enzymes – however, for those not so keen on downing a cup of neat vinegar, an apple cider vinegar gummy like this one from Protein Works, now with 10% off its £14.99 RRP with the code PW10, promises all the same benefits without the yucky taste.
Often infused with additional vitamins like vitamin C, B6 and B12, apple cider vinegar gummies make the trend a lot more accessible and easier to stick to, as users don’t have to dread their daily intake with its vinegary flavour.

Holland & Barrett sells a 60 pack of 250mg ACV gummies with the Mother for £13.99. And MyVitamins also stocks a similar product, available in 30 or 60-gummy pots, for £7.99 for 30 or £10.49 for 60.
In terms of apple cider vinegar’s benefits, one of the best-researched is its effect on blood sugar control, with various studies showing it can help to level out insulin and glucose levels after eating a carbohydrate-heavy meal. It’s also said to help suppress appetite when consumed alongside a meal, and animal studies suggest that it helps to balance cholesterol. It is thought that the acetic acid can help improve digestion, too, though there’s not a lot of research to support this theory yet.
Among those who like to consume their apple cider vinegar in the form of a Protein Works gummy is a shopper who said “they taste so good”. “I’m a big believer in supplementing with apple cider vinegar and these are a much nicer way to consume than a tablet,” they added.

Protein Works, where shoppers can buy a whole host of health supplements, also has an ‘excellent’ 4.7-star rating on Trustpilot, with one shopper saying they “cannot praise this company enough”.
“From the fantastic customer service, to the prompt same day dispatch and next day delivery (on weekends might I add), to the array of products and sheer quality,” they added. “Outstanding products, I cannot recommend them highly enough,” another said.
However, some were less impressed, with a couple of shoppers reporting delivery issues. One shopper wrote: “Never received order due to DPD, however Protein Works did refund me. Unfortunately, the courier service they use is a massive letdown.”
Another fan of the brand said: “First purchased from them in Feb 25 and have recently purchased again. I really like the vegan protein shakes (chocolate bueno is my fave, prefer it to chocolate silk). Have also ordered some apple cider gummies. They frequently have offers.”
