ROLLA, Mo. (Gray News) – A driver in Missouri caught the moment a possible tornado hit as he and one other sheltered inside his car.
“G*****n tornado is hitting us,” one of the car’s occupants can be heard saying in the video Tod Peters shared on Facebook.
In the video, Peters and a co-passenger are inside a car parked at a gas station near Rolla, Missouri, Friday, watching the severe storm unfold outside.
“Is this coming? Oh my God, it’s here,” the second occupant says in response. “Yeah, look at all that debris. Oh my God.”
Heavy winds and rain can be seen and heard in the video, as debris is seen through the car’s windshield passing by. At some point in the video, it appears as if the car is shaking.
“We’re in a tornado,” one occupant says.
An outbreak of tornadoes struck Missouri Friday as a string of violent storms and tornadoes made their way across the U.S. At least 16 people have been killed, including 10 in Missouri, according to The Associated Press.
