A Queens man used the northern border to smuggle Pakistani and Bangladeshi foreign nationals into the United States, federal prosecutors announced Tuesday.
Atikur Razzaque, 28, of Ozone Park, pled guilty to crossing the border near Westville, N.Y. on Sept. 21 with three Bangladeshi citizens in tow— for which he was compensated — as part of a broader smuggling operation, prosecutors charged.
Razzaque admitted to similar incidents in the past and was charged with alien smuggling and conspiracy to commit alien smuggling.
He was sentenced to 15 months behind bars for the scheme.
