Fans of a popular iced tea were briefly left reeling today after hearing that their beloved beverage was being discontinued. Lipton is a well-known brand and a big name in the tea game, with its hot tea bags proving quite popular in the US.
While we are quite particular about our teabags across the pond, one thing Brits love from Lipton is its range of flavoured ice teas. On Wednesday, March 19, the firm announced that it would be axing its Peach Ice Tea.
In a bizarre twist, Lipton has since pedalled back on the news, in what appears to be an early April Fools’ Day prank. While this is good news for Peach Ice Tea fans, it serves as an important reminder to stock up while you can, should the joke ever become reality.

Luckily, we’ve spotted a deal that will help quench this thirst, as Amazon currently stocks a 24 case of 500ml bottles of Lipton Ice Tea Peach for £26.99. But fans may want to act fast, this sudden scare may prompt people to clear the virtual shelves.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday night, Lipton Ice Tea posted: “You may have heard that our iconic Peach Lipton Ice Tea flavour is getting discontinued. We know – it hurts (sorry if we’ve ruined your go-to afternoon chill bev).
“But don’t worry, the rest of your faves are still here to keep you refreshed. And who knows? Maybe one day, Peach will make a legendary comeback. We appreciate your understanding during this period of adjustment and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

However, a second Instagram post shared on Wednesday afternoon read: “Peach is here to stay”, with a pairing caption saying: “Did you really think she was going anywhere???”
The statement continued: “Oops, is it still March? Got my dates mixed up…thought it was April Fools already! I’d never take away your favourite flavour, pookies.
“Your love for Peach has not gone unnoticed. But I’ve got your back, I will be sending a surprise to the biggest fans with the best reactions.”
Amazon’s bulk purchase means each bottle costs just £1.12 each, making for a decent bargain compared to its £1.85 price tag that is currently enforced by Tesco.
Lipton describes its Peach Ice Tea as a “delightful fusion of real tea with the luscious essence of ripe peaches, delivering a sunny burst of flavour in every sip, regardless of the weather.”
It adds: “From the very first taste to the very last drop, you’ll revel in a delightful blend of sweetness and peachy goodness.”
