DALLAS — Scottie Scheffler is getting used to this Masters champions dinner thing. His second time around as defending champ this April, Scheffler will apparently stick to what he knows best — with one notable, and kind of hilarious, addition.

The Masters on Wednesday announced Scheffler’s menu of choice for this year’s dinner, and it was a near replica of what Scheffler served up in 2023 after winning his first green jacket the year before.

Cheeseburger sliders (served Scottie-style). Firecracker shrimp. Ribeye or Blackened Redfish as the main course. A warm chocolate chip skillet cookie. One difference this time around is Scheffler subbed out a tortilla soup for a Texas-style chili (assuming no beans, of course).

The other difference: Scheffler has added “Papa Scheff’s Meatball and Ravioli Bites.”

OK, so the guy like meatballs and ravioli.

Except let’s hope Scheffler is nowhere near the cookware this time around.

Over the Christmas holiday, Scheffler cut his hand and needed surgery to stitch it up, delaying his start to the PGA Tour season. At the time, the injury was described only as a cooking incident gone awry. But when Scheffler returned to the Tour in January, he shed light on what actually happened. He was using a wine glass to cut ravioli, he said, and the glass broke, slicing his right palm.

That’s a very expensive right hand, so thankfully there wasn’t any long-lasting damage.

While Scheffler is pretty matter-of-fact in his approach to the game, you can’t help but appreciate the humor in his Masters menu selection, an apparent nod to his Christmas dinner mishap.
