AUSTIN, Texas — After allegedly admitting to downloading child pornography, new court documents reveal the extent of the charges against an Austin ISD elementary school teacher.
Carl Innmon, a fifth-grade teacher at Baranoff Elementary School, was first arrested earlier this month on a felony charge of possessing child pornography.
Innmon has also now been charged with possessing child pornography with the intent to promote, along with possessing and promoting lewd visual material depicting a child.

The affidavit states that Innmon had his iPhone, a laptop and a portable hard seized. Initially, only three explicit videos of child sex abuse materials were located. However, the new court documents state that Innmon allegedly had more than 365,000 images of child sex abuse.
In addition to those images, the affidavit says Innmon had images of child pornography generated by artificial intelligence, including images involving students at Baranoff Elementary School.
According to the affidavit, both students were 10 years old at the time Innmon took their photo in a classroom. Innmon then allegedly used AI to create multiple lewd and explicit images of the students.
Innmon was arrested and charged following a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) investigation into people using peer-to-peer file sharing to share child pornography and child sexual abuse. During the investigation, DPS discovered a host computer in Austin sharing “files of interest” which was later traced back to Innmon.
DPS alerted Austin ISD about the investigation, which led the district to put Innmon on administrative leave. The district stated Innmon was in his first year at the elementary school and taught American Sign Language.
Innmon was arrested and booked into Travis County Jail before being released on bond.
