Looks like general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll have a quarterback for the new season.
The Giants and veteran Jameis Winston are finalizing a two-year, $8 million deal, according to Fox Sports.
The addition of Winston gives the Giants a potential Week 1 starter to pair with star receiver Malik Nabers. The Giants, though, currently own the No. 3 overall pick in April’s NFL Draft and could also select a quarterback for the franchise’s future.
Winston, now on his fourth team since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted him No. 1 overall in 2015, appeared in 12 games (seven starts) with the Cleveland Browns last season. He finished the season with 2,121 yards, 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
