ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WWBT) – The Alexandria Police Department said a former federal prosecutor was found dead in her Virginia home on Friday night.
On Saturday morning, officers said 43-year-old Jessica Aber was found dead in her Beverley Drive home.
Reactions have been pouring in from lawmakers following Aber’s death.
“I am saddened to learn of the passing of Jessica Aber, whose career of public service included US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia and whose work with Ceasefire Virginia saved more lives than we may ever realize,” said Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares on Facebook.
“My prayers are with Jessica Aber’s loved ones,” wrote Sen. Tim Kaine on X. “Jessica was an exceptional public servant who dedicated her life to serving her fellow Virginians. She will be deeply missed.”

The Alexandria Police Department said an investigation is underway surrounding the circumstances of her death. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of Virginia will determine the cause and manner of death.
