One well known brand that has been given a big discount is the Ring Doorbell. This battery doorbell normally retails for £99.99, but you can now grab it for only £59.99 after a 40 per cent price cut.

This 2024 release is easy to set up and has a built-in battery. The device comes with a HD video, which also features a colour night vision, so you can clearly see what is going on outside your front door, even in the dark. With a head-to-toe view, you will also be able to see if a package has been left outside your house.
Additionally, if there are areas outside your house you don’t want to be recorded, you can set privacy zones where the Ring device will now longer display or record that area. This is all set through the Ring app, where you can also connect to all of your devices, adjust other settings and choose to arm or disarm your devices while you are away.
There is also a quick replies option on the app, where you can choose from a selection of pre-recorded messages that will play when the Ring Doorbell is pressed. It should be noted that all these features are available for free for a month, including 180 days of storage to rewatch videos, but then you will then need to buy a subscription.
Many shoppers have reported being satisfied with their Ring Doorbell, which has earned itself a 4.5 star rating. One content shopper said: “Great product. Works seamlessly and super easy to setup unlike some other brands. The notifications are real time.
“Had issues with old doorbell from an other brand where I would only get alerts 15-20 seconds later and the person at the door would have left by then and it is not the case with Ring. The motion detection is accurate and you can set detection boundaries. The picture quality is one of the best I have seen and the night vision is good too.”
Another shopper added: “Fantastic doorbell. Good clear viewing and love that I can speak to the delivery person even when out. Charging is easy and lasts a good 2-3 weeks and the app tells you when it needs charging. We do ours over night. Works great for us. Would recommend.”
A third shopper wrote:”We love our new Ring doorbell! It was easy to install and now I get a call when there is somebody at the door. It has been brilliant so far and we’re very happy. However, a few shoppers had some issues with the doorbell, as one shopper had to return theirs: “It kept sending ‘somebody at the door notifications’ so I look and no one is there playback the recording (which won’t be possible when trial sub expires) and see people walking past on the path about 15 feet away.
“I reduce the sensitivity of motion detection and still it notifies me so I reduce motion again and again until it is at minimum I still receive notices.”
Another was unhappy about the subscription: “It worked as it should, however, once the free months trial ended it was absolutely useless, for me, without the subscription! Very, very limited what it does without the subscription, ‘Live view’ – Who wants/needs to watch what’s going on outside your house for any amount of time?
“Alerts you when someone rings the bell and that’s it, it doesn’t even record that and doesn’t record anyone hanging around your door – What’s the point in that?”
