SMYTH COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) – Governor Youngkin has approved a bill renaming a bridge in honor of Smyth County Deputy Hunter Reedy.
Deputy Reedy was killed while conducting a traffic stop that turned into a shooting August 2024.
The newly named bridge along Route 11 over Interstate 81 will now be called the Deputy Hunter D. Reedy Memorial Bridge.
