While most of the original cast from 25 years ago will reprise their roles, there’s one new face joining the main crew.

SAN FRANCISCO — “Malcolm in the Middle” is being revived on Disney+ and while there are familiar names reprising their characters, there will be one new face taking on a big role. 

Caleb Ellsworth-Clark, who played Drunk Jim in an episode of “Fargo,” is taking over the role of Dewey, replacing Erik Per Sullivan, according to Variety.  Sullivan retired in 2010, according to his IMDb

He will join much of the original sitcom’s cast who are reprising their roles. 

Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield are set to come back as Malcolm’s older brothers Francis and Reese. Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek reprising their roles as Malcolm, Hal and Lois Wilkerson.

Other new faces will also appear in the show, including Anthony Timpano as Malcolm’s youngest brother Jamie, Vaughan Murrae as Malcolm’s youngest sibling Kelly and Keeley Karsten as Malcolm’s daughter Leah, according to Variety. 

The seven-season sitcom ran from 2000 through 2006 and the revival was announced nearly 25 years after the beloved sitcom first launched. It’s set to be a four-episode run on the streaming platform and will be crafted by original series creator Linwood Boomer. 

The show originally aired on Fox and won seven Emmy Awards — including one for best writing for a comedy series — and currently streams on Hulu and on Disney+.

Filming has yet to start, but likely will soon as Muniz hinted on social media. 

“Just started watching Malcolm in the Middle episode 1. Got 151 to catch up on before we start filming again in a few days!!!” he wrote on X. “Can’t wait to get back together with my old family.”
