Whether it’s scrolling through social media, watching TV, or strolling down the high street, we’re constantly bombarded with images of people flaunting luscious, shiny, impeccably clean hair. But for busy mums, workaholics or anyone who plays sports regularly finding time for a thorough hair wash can be a challenge.

Dry shampoo has long been touted as the magic fix, but often it falls short of expectations. Whether it leaves a tell-tale white residue despite vigorous rubbing or fails to keep the grease at bay for more than a few hours, many have experienced the disappointment of an underperforming dry shampoo.

However, the perfect solution could be at hand. Hair Gain’s Peptide Puff Dry Shampoo, which was featured on ITV’s This Morning as one of Nadine Baggott’s top beauty recommendations, retails at £14.99 and pledges to soak up oil while nurturing your hair and scalp between washes.

This dry shampoo, which flew off the shelves within five minutes of its QVC debut, has since gained a cult following among beauty aficionados and influencers, earning a coveted spot in Grazia’s Gym Bag Heroes. The Peptide Puff boasts a scientifically formulated, aerosol-free recipe designed to absorb oil, nourish the scalp and leave hair feeling refreshed, light and voluminous.

It is also said to be a cleaner, more sustainable alternative to aerosol dry shampoos, which makes it a smarter choice for both hair and the planet. Buyers don’t need to worry about their hair type being suitable, as the dry shampoo works for all, is vegan-friendly, and is cruelty-free, according to the Express.

If this dry shampoo isn’t calling out to buyers they could also stick with the trusty Batiste Blush Dry Shampoo for £3.59 from Lookfantastic. It comes in a 200ml can and is described as a fast-acting dry shampoo infused with notes of freesia, tuberose and peony.

For a more expensive choice, the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo is £15.74 on Amazon and is said to clean your hair for you – removing dirt, oil and odour for a fresh start. For this one, buyers just need to section their hair, apply the product in a sweeping motion to the dirty and oily areas and, after 30 seconds, remove the shampoo by massaging and shaking at roots with their fingers or a hair brush.

The Peptide Puff Dry Shampoo received 4.4 out of 5 stars from 30 reviews on the Hair Gain website. One satisfied customer said: “I bought one to take into hospital because I didn’t want a spray to overpower everyone. It was fantastic! Easy to use and no overwhelming smell. Will definitely buy again.”

Another customer added: “No spray in the air around you. Direct application via the puff, the powder is very light so does weigh down your hair, a plus that there is no aerosol spray in the air around you. Smells good and leaves hair volumised and ready to style. Great for extending the time between hair washing. Also small and compact so travels well.”

Sadly, another user was less impressed. They said: “This Dry Shampoo is a handy quick fix for refreshing hair between washes. While it didn’t completely transform my extremely greasy hair – I gave it a rough test on a very lazy weekend – it did help tidy up my fringe and add a bit of volume. The small size makes it easy to keep in my bag for on-the-go touch-ups. Not bad, but I’ll still be doing my regular proper wash routine and using this to tidy up on second days.”

On the whole though, most buyers praised the dry shampoo. Another added: “I love this dry shampoo. Easy to apply and keeps your hair looking fresh, also great for travelling, as it’s a great size to fit in your bag. I use it between hair washes and my hair looks great. No greasy-looking hair for me! Delivery was also very fast. Highly recommend.”

For those curious to try out the product themselves, the Peptide Puff Dry Shampoo could be an ideal addition to their hair care regimen at £14.99.
