BRIDGETON, N.J. (Gray News) – A former school janitor in New Jersey was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to tampering with food served to students and staff.
According to Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae, 25-year-old Giovanni Impellizzeri recorded videos of himself during the months of October and November 2023, putting cleaning products and bodily fluids into food that was intended for students and staff.

Impellizzeri, who was employed as a custodian for the Upper Deerfield School District at the time, shared the videos in an online chat group.
He was charged with several counts of aggravated assault, tampering with food products, attempted endangering and official misconduct.
As detectives with the New Jersey Police Department investigated the case, they also discovered Impellizzeri was in possession of child sexual abuse material. For that, he was also charged with possession and distribution.
