SPFL clubs can’t seem to agree what to do for the best with league reconstruction – but the Hotline can’t agree on ANYTHING.

Arrin Geddes, Irvine, said:”The HotlineRangers regulars constantly trying to slag off Celtic’s incredible transfer dealings seems like the rantings of madmen. ‘We’re glad we’re not like you, making all those millions from players who win loads of trophies and then go on to do nothing else.’ No business sense obviously!”

Cue Scott Gowers, Edinburgh, who said: “Celtic are quickly going down a slippery road with their buy cheap sell dear and buy back for peanuts policy. Who in their right mind would want to buy any Celtic player when it’s clear they’ll down tools to get back to Celtic? The strategy may have worked so far but people are wise to the shenanigans now.”

Greg Taylor has been floated as a potential transfer option for Rangers but he’s not the Celtic-minded star Robert Livingstone, Palm Beach, wants to sign. He said: “I’ve followed Rangers for decades, watching them I don’t just see blue jerseys, I look at players from both teams. A caller said Kyogo is a dud, a foolish statement when he’s scored nine goals against us.

“Kris Boyd said jokingly sign Greg Taylor, well Kris the reality is Kyogo is the one Gers should go for especially with the possibility of Hagi leaving for free.

“There was a fans outcry when they signed Mo Johnston in 89, some refused to go, but it proved a good move he won two league titles and scored a lot of goals.”

There was some fallout from Rangers’ fightback 4-3 win at Dens Park as well.

William Hutchison, Aberdeen, said: “Yes Rangers can brag about the fighting spirit to get the goals that got the win. Let me ask them, if Dundee’s third goal stood and Dundee didn’t score own goal, do you really think the come back be on? Highly doubt it….”

But the ifs, buts and maybes weren’t flying for Joe Robertson who said: “Just to let Dundee fans no most supermarkets are doing a deal, it’s buy three and get one free. No, not goals, it’s Kleenex tissues to dry your eyes.”

Touching on the reconstruction chat for a minute, John Scott, Grassmoor, said: “With the SPFL looking at ways to help our clubs progress through European qualification there’s still a huge anomaly. Our clubs face Euro ties before the season is hardly up and running. Previously we’ve had teams taking on qualification attempts having only just returned from pre-season training camps.

“Its the height of arrogance to prepare so poorly and face off against teams whose leagues have been up and running for weeks or months. To prepare our clubs they need competitive games at least a month before their first tie. A ten or fourteen team league won’t alter that glaring lack of foresight.”

And Jim McClean, Rothesay, reckons it’s taxi time for Derek McInnes. He said: “I said weeks ago Killie were relegation material and so it is proving, McInnes is clueless with his tactics and team selections, putting square pegs in round holes doesn’t work.

“We have been going backwards since Tony Docherty went to Dundee, he was obviously the brains behind Killie. Del Boy has been found out, need someone new for next season whether if is the Premiership or the Championship which we are only good enough for anyway.”
