AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department (APD) Bomb Squad is on the scene of an incident in northeast Austin on Monday afternoon.
Around 2:15 p.m., APD said officers were responding to the 11900 block of Dove Haven Drive, near the intersection of East Braker Lane and Interstate 35.
As a precaution, police said a text and call message alert was sent out to neighbors, telling them to shelter in place. Police said there is no immediate threat to the general public.
People have been asked to avoid the area and plan for possible road closures nearby.
