TV fans no longer have an excuse not to stream a series defined as a ‘gripping masterpiece’ and it’s all thanks to Amazon.

The retail giant has launched an update to its streaming app, which adds even more choice for viewers to find their next favourite show or movie. As of this month, the Apple TV+ service is now available as an additional subscription directly via the Prime Video app.

It means the entire library will be available without downloading additional software and combine libraries, making it easier to browse and filter content without having to switch between apps and logins.

It is a significant addition to a whole host of extra services that Amazon Prime users can add to their service. This includes Paramount+ where fans can find hits like Yellowstone, South Park and recent Star Trek series. There is also Shudder for horror fans and Discovery+ for access to documentaries and TNT Sports.

The Apple TV+ add-on subscription costs the same amount as signing up directly through the tech giant at £8.99 a month. There is the advantage of being able to manage the subscription, such as cancelling at any time through your Amazon account page. It’s easy for smart TV and Fire Stick users to sign up and claim a seven-day free trial.

Those browsing on Android devices such as a mobile or tablet may need to sign up using the Amazon website as Google prevents additional purchases of its kind via its Play Store apps. Once signed up, the Prime Video app recently updated to allow users to easily filter content they have access to.

TV lovers can get 30 days’ free access to binge tantalising TV like The Boys and The Rings of Powerby signing up to Amazon Prime. Just remember to cancel at the end and you won’t be charged.

Users just need to use the top menu where a logo to each subscription will show on the far right depending on which service you are currently signed up for. Selecting each will filter the library to only show that content and remove any that carries an extra cost.

It all means that one of the best hidden gems of recent years, is even easier to watch. Severance was initially released exclusively on Apple TV+ in 2022. It was loved by critics and viewers alike, however it didn’t seem to become a big of a hit as it deserves due to being locked between an additional streaming service and app.

The series follows a team of office workers whose memories have been surgically divided between their work and personal lives. They soon find themselves on a journey to discover the truth about their jobs and their outside lives.

Led by a stellar cast including Adam Scott, Christopher Walken, John Turturro and Patricia Arquette with Ben Stiller serving as a series director. It is one of a few Apple shows with a near-perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes, sat at 97%

One fan shared their thoughts and said: “It’s a perfect show with a mind blowing ending.” Another added: “Severance is a gripping masterpiece that completely redefines the thriller genre with its unique premise and deeply engaging narrative.

“The show, brilliantly crafted by Ben Stiller and Dan Erickson, intricately weaves suspense, drama, and psychological depth into a story that not only entertains but also provokes profound thought about work-life balance and identity.”

There’s no better time to stream as the second season is finally on the way and will premiere next year on January 17. Amazon users will also be able to catch up on critically acclaimed shows like Ted Lasso, Silo and Slow Horses.
