With Christmas Day less than a week away, the focus is on securing those last-minute gifts and if you’re still wrapping up your Christmas shopping, you’re in good company because it seems Queen Camilla is too.
The royal was spotted picking up some eleventh-hour presents for King Charles just yesterday. Snapped by Mail Online, Camilla, 77, was seen browsing the tea section at Fortnum and Mason; a time-honoured royal tradition, with the department store even boasting an official royal warrant.
Onlookers reported that Queen finally selected her Christmas gift of choice, a tin of cinnamon and orange black tea, after perusing the £13.95 offerings, OK! reports.
While we couldn’t locate Camilla’s exact tea selection on the Fortnum and Mason website, the store’s wide range of teas have been a favourite gift among the Royal Family for years. The first Royal order on Fortnum and Mason’s record came from Queen Victoria, who gifted 250lbs of concentrated Beef Tea to Florence Nightingale.
The Fortnum website also recounts numerous instances of the royals gifting tea, including Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles and Princess Margaret who have all gifted tea from the store.
With Fortnum and Mason tea starting at £6.95 and several Royal Blends available, it’s a brilliant affordable gift for last-minute stocking fillers or as a present for fans of the Royal Family.
But it’s not just tea that the royals love from Fortnum and Mason. After opening the refurbished store in 2007, King Charles was gifted a bottle of Fortnum’s 1707 Noir Eau de Parfum, priced at £235.
The Princess of Wales Kate Middleton, Queen Camilla and Queen Elizabeth all visited the store in March 2012 for the opening of the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon, each receiving a bespoke hamper. The iconic Fortnum and Mason hampers are still available in various styles on their website, including the new Christmas collection.
Options like The Christmas Traditions Hamper, priced at £150, and The Christmas Treat Hamper, costing £110, are brimming with festive treats. Whether you’re gifting them or treating yourself to enhance your Christmas celebrations, they’re a seasonal must-have.
