Celebrity Bear Hunt has dropped on Netflix today (February 5), serving up an adrenaline-packed season with 12 well-known personalities facing off in a variety of wild challenges, all under the keen oversight of the man himself Bear Grylls.
Participants had to endure challenging weather and navigate the terrifying elements of the jungle, from unruly wildlife to daunting insects.
This forest is teeming with life, with trees densely packed together interwoven by thick, leafy vines creating a verdant canopy overhead.
Inhabitants of the jungle have the liberty to wander freely, often filling the air with their unique symphony of calls, songs, and chatter.
Moreover, the dozen celebrities had to co-habit in close quarters within a dwelling situated not too far from the jungle’s edge, undoubtedly leading to tensions and spats during their round-the-clock proximity.
The official blurb says: “Meet the 12 celebrities taking part in the ultimate game of cat and mouse with the legendary Bear Grylls. They’ll live together, learn survival skills and compete in epic challenges.
“Lose, and they will face the most primal survival test of them all…being hunted down by Bear Grylls in nature’s deadliest escape room – The Bear Pit.
“Anyone caught by Bear will face elimination. Who will be the last celebrity standing? “.
The series was filmed in the Costa Rican jungle last year, but its exact location has not been revealed.
The star-studded cast joining the thrilling programme includes Spice Girl’s Mel B, tennis icon Boris Becker, interior design guru Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, broadcaster Steph McGovern and former rugby ace Danny Cipriani.
Also bracing to endure the challenges are Strictly Come Dancing’s esteemed judge Shirley Ballas, hip-hop artist Big Zuu, The Saturdays’ Una Healy and The Inbetweeners’ Joe Thomas.
Completing the impressive roster are model Lottie Moss, actor Kola Bokinni and fashion model Leomie Anderson, with Holly Willoughby taking the reins as the presenter of this formidable show.
Netflix tantalised audiences with a first-glimpse trailer in January, alongside announcing the official line-up, giving viewers ample time to ramp up their anticipation.
In the promotional footage, host Holly declares: “The ultimate survival challenge, twelve celebrities are in the Costa Rican jungle going head-to-head with the legendary Bear Grylls.”
Adding to the excitement, the intrepid Bear stated: “I have done many wild things in my life but I have never hunted celebrities. The celebrities won’t come out of this the same.”
